For those looking to live and work in one of Europe's beautiful, vibrant, and culturally rich capitals, Vienna is a great place to intern.

Vienna, Austria is the former hub of Europe. Once the seat of the Habsburg Empire, it was seen as a gateway between eastern and western Europe. And from the music of Strauss to the art of Gustav Klimt, Vienna boasts having served as the home of some of the most world-renowned artists in history. Exciting internship opportunities abound in this magnificent city, and below is a sampling of possible jobs for students and recent graduates.

United Nations Internships in Vienna

The U.N. in Vienna provides highly qualified university students with an incredible opportunity: gaining work experience in international diplomacy. This two- to six-month internship will look outstanding on a resume, and, though highly competitive, strong students of international relations and related fields are encouraged to apply.

IES Abroad's Internship Opportunities in Vienna

All Vienna internships through IES are combined with either the European Society & Culture or the Music study abroad program. Fields include business, education, and public service. IES assists students with placement, but the internship is only available to those on the IES study abroad program.

DANUBE's Internship Program in Vienna

DANUBE European Training, Research and Technology is an organization based in Austria. Opportunities are available for students and recent graduates throughout Europe, including Vienna. Internships last 3-12 months. Applications should be submitted at least a month prior to the desired start date.

CS Vienna's Internships

It is possible for full-time university students to intern at the U.S. Commercial Service in Austria. This is a program international business majors may be interested in, as the primary focus is to connect U.S. and Austrian businesses.

Language Teaching Assistantships in Austria

The Austrian Ministry of Education offers university students and recent grads a great job as a language assistant. These assistants work in classrooms that teach their native language. Leading conversations, preparing lessons, and serving as a classroom assistant (proofreading, tutoring individual students, and aiding in the supervision of group activities) are all duties of the job.
