AIESEC UK's Access Global Talent Programme focuses on connecting UK companies with top international talent for internships and work placements in a variety of fields.

AIESEC UK, the UK branch of the world's largest student-run organisation spanning 107 countries, is giving UK companies the opportunity to connect with top-level international talent thanks to its Access Global Talent programme.

Global Internships and Cultural Exchange

The Access Global Talent programme is a part of AIESEC's wider operations on a global scale. AIESEC provided over 8,000 students with work opportunities abroad in 2008-09, with over 300 of these exchanges happening either to or from the UK. Access Global Talent gives UK companies the chance to take advantage of this exchange programme, and to be an active part in promoting cultural exchange between the UK and other countries worldwide.

AIESEC's global network gives it access to a wealth of top international, multilingual graduate and postgraduate talent in a variety of fields - encompassing students from IT, engineering, marketing, finance and management backgrounds, it allows companies to fill specific positions quickly, to fit their own short-term needs.

Fighting the Recession

Many UK companies' recruitment has slowed or even stopped since the onset of the global recession. However, AIESEC's cost-effective scheme allows companies to recruit for short-term positions without the need for an expensive recruitment process. It also allows companies to recruit highly-motivated graduates and postgraduates who are ready and willing to apply themselves in a new and exciting professional environment.

AIESEC handles the integration of the intern through its global support network, meaning interns can settle swiftly into their new roles. Placements last between 2 and 18 months, allowing companies to bring in international assistance for specific expansion projects if necessary, and ensure the continued growth of their business.

Not Just Experienced, but AIESEC-Experienced

AIESEC's 35,000 members spend their years at university supplementing their studies with training in leadership, business skills, sales, marketing, presentation and negotiations, thanks to their involvement in setting up the organisation's global exchange programme. This means they come to the UK with highly-developed soft skills, as well as graduate or postgraduate qualifications.

Many of them also have one or two years' work experience in their chosen field, making them even more qualified for positions with UK firms. AIESEC members have a global mindset and are able to work interculturally and in unfamiliar environments with confidence and clarity of thought, while also showing the initiative that helps to make AIESEC the world's most vibrant and innovative student group.

Summarily, AIESEC UK is not an easy entity to define or pin down. However, the advantages of its work for both students and companies alike are easily spotted, and in the wake of the global economic slowdown, organisations such as AIESEC will be key to providing the hard work and drive necessary for UK businesses to overcome their troubles.
